Locker Room Cancer of 2006-7
« on: July 02, 2009, 12:46:45 AM »
Emery
Redden
Heatley

Who Else?  I know I'm missing some guys....but just can't think of them right now.  Bottom line they have been traded already...or in the case of dip shit 15, on their way out.

Seems to be a pattern forming here wherby you give someone enough rope...eventually they hang themselves.

Too bad it cost us a legitimate shot at the cup.

As much as I hate Heatley right now, I keep hearing how all the guys liked him and how they all got along with each other.  So how did he get a reputation as a cancer.

Yep...other than Neil's remarks after Heatley's announcement that he wanted out, any Sens player that I have heard has not said one bad thing about him.  Perhaps they were being politically correct, but nonetheless.....

However, if the Sens are unable to come up with a deal (which is looking more likely now), he certainly will be branded as such should he 'officially' remain with the team.

Apparently some info is making the rounds in the media that some guys were annoyed with how he acted in the dressing room. Could be fueled by Heatley's attitude with the press though.

He was terrible with the press!  Not a good person to wear the 'A', IMHO.

If I played hockey I would be the LAST guy you would ever want talking to the press.  Sure I took a speaking class in college but put me in front of a camera and that all goes to shite. :)

Lets not mix the statements "He's a great Friend" with Heatleys attitude in the locker room.

The twit is requesting a trade from Ottawa because he is getting 3 Minutes less Ice time under Clouston and is on the 2nd PP line.

BIG FRIGGING WHOOP DE DOO!!!

In the playoffs of 2006/7 vs Anahiem....Heatley was less than stellar as each round progressed.....Then under Paddock....he likely got away with his "WOAH is me" Complaints along with Emery, McGratts, Redden etc........

I think it's easy to see who the Cancers are now....
I Know one thing, If I had to play with a dick wad complaining about the loss of 3 minutes of ice time compared to the limited Ice time guys get on lines 3 and 4.....I'd get a little frustrated/Pissed and frankly demotivated myself seeing the person getting spoon fed despite all my best efforts to help the team win.

Sens are definetly in the shit tank now and will need a couple of years to rebuild themselves to their former glory.  Having Heatley around only makes that progress much more difficult.

It's just when I hear that Chris Kelly was SHOCKED and how Sean Donovan was SHOCKED to hear that Dany Heatley wanted out, it leads me to believe that his attitude in the locker room wasn't one of a "cancer".

But why was spezza "not really shocked"? Was Heatley giving signs of not liking it here or does spezza feel the same as heatley but doesn't want to speak out?

I would guess that Spezza is probably Heater's best buddy on the Sens and there was probably some grumbling over beers about his spot on the PP and ice time being cut.

:icon_agree:  Particularly since Spezza was still on the 1st PP unit, was he not?  It should also be remembered, if my memory is right on this, that when the two of them were renegotiating their contracts, was there not some discussion how they "negotiated" together?  Insofar as they wanted to stay on the team together for as long as possible (since, at the time, they appeared to be unbreakable as a duo)?  IMHO, if anyone on the team knows what is going on inside that (block)head of Heatley's, it would be Jason.

Heatley is an aquarius.  Campoli and Picard are the only Cancers.
