I seem to remember a similar reaction when Phaneuf came to Ottawa however I believe that he has been a pleasant addition to the team.

Yeah, I was always a fan of the Phaneuf trade but he has turned around a lot, if not all, of the people who weren't sure of his arrival.

I still wish he would take this off-season more seriously and spend it working on his skating. Take the current Phaneuf, and improve his skating by even just 25%, and he would probably surpass Methot on the D-men depth chart.

WOW guys, Good thing I wasn't around when this thread started.  Burrows is exactly the type of in your face guy we needed. He and Brassard have been good Pickups IMO.  Stalberg, not sure about now, he seems to have faded in the Playoffs a tad.  Nice to see Hoff actually producing post season.

Stalberg is playing hurt, which I don't understand. A healthy Wingels would be much better than Stalberg right now.

Burrows needs to wake up though. The best he's done this series is a couple of nice screens, but that's not was the organization traded for.

is that the problem with Stalberg?  He looked like a beast down the stretch but I just figured he faded now.  At least he has something ailing him.  Burrows is a Playoff Warrior from all I've read and heard about him, hopefully he gets it going soon, we can take this series.

Yeah it's a strange one with Stalberg, what's the point in having depth if your not going to use it when needed, especially when the guys in reserve are solid players. I think Burrows will come good but he's not playing with his usual dickhead edge that he's famous for that's for sure.

Especially against Boston, considering the history. It wouldn't take much, IMO to really get under the skin of some of the Bruins that were part of the Finals a few years back.
