try this... courtesy of a handyman friend in Binghamton... you know those "moist towlettes" that you get in the restaurant for wiping your paws after you eat wings? Take one and rub it over the wiper blade before you go out... it works for me most of the time.

Wiper blades... adding that to the list for shopping tomorrow...

Makes sense considering they are alcohol based and alcohol freezes only in extremely cold temps.

Stupid f*****g small town tournaments and they're stupid f*****g homer refs.

Refs in Novice who don't call a thing whatsoever.

The Cumberland way and how most kids Cumberland teams stop skating and playing hockey when the other team plays a little physical.

I'm done now.
There are good coaches and there are bad coaches, the real question is "Do you want this person to be a role model to your kids for the next 6 months".  That's the question you have to ask yourself.

You child played in a tournament I take it  ;)

I know what you mean, and I'm sure many of us share those same sentiments.

My pet peeve, once again seems to be the disadvantage we all as being Canadian.

Our dollar is the best it has been for years, yet it seems to be difficult to find anything around here that reflects lowered prices as a result.  Take the XBOBX 360 for instance. Back when it was released in 2005 our dollar was still limping around, so they set a $50 difference between the Canadian systems and their US counterparts, understandable.  Now that our dollar flops from being higher, to just slightly lower, basically on average being par with the US dollar, it doesn't make sense as to why this $50.00 difference continues to be applied.

Last I checked, (two minutes ago), $350 US = $344 CAD, so please, explain to me, just why is it that the same thing is going for $400 here in Canada?

Can't be the taxes they have to pay when importing into Canada, because Canadian companies file remittance forms, claiming the amount of taxes they paid, and submit the amount of taxes they collected from their customers, so the tax should never be taken into consideration when setting your retail price.  Also, buying in bulk and shipping to Canada, sure, it adds to the cost, but shipping many things at once is cheaper on a per unit basis than it is to ship a single item.

I want to support the Canadian economy, but somebody, please explain to me why that in order to do so one must be bent over and taking it in the rear for doing so!

Hey BB this is what the stores will tell you.  Places like WalMart buy their stock, anywhere from 6 months to a year in advance.  So because they bought their stock while the Canadian dollar was low, they are still selling it at the same price as before our dollar went up.  The interesting thing though is that when our dollar finally does go down the cost of the products that they bought when our dollar was high will not go down in price to reflect the savings, but stay high.

Being Canadian means being gouged and taking it like all good and polite little Canadians should.

Yeah, which is COMPLETE BS!  No way in hell any retailer buys their stock 6 months to a year in advance, no store has the capacity to hold that amount of goods in any one place.  Stores individually make their orders on a daily, if not weekly basis, they have Canadian wharehouses that hold the items, but still, not enough space to hold 6 months worth of product for every sing store it serves!

I think many of the stores as well are counting on how much of a hassle it can be to shop in the US and return to Canada, dealing with customs and crap!

Hard to know. My brother and I have talked about it.
Paddock also gets some skin irritations so I'm sure it's a medical thing.

conversations between him and Murray must be interestiing.

Yeah...I have noticed his skin problems and wondered if he has seen a good dermatologist.  He gets some nasty outbreaks sometimes!

2 hour flight last night.  Lady in seat behind me didn't shut up for the entire flight.  Stream of conciousness babble, fine, but no need to use the same voice as if you were outside; and when there is an announcement, you don't need to raise your voice to be heard over it.   And when you're on a plane, please skip or really dial down the amount of perfume, eh.

Was thinking of starting a "Rant & Rave" thread and then recalled we have a Pet Peeve thread that obviously died well over a year ago now.  Ah but to bring it back!

My rant today is administration in general, not admitting when they, or the organization they work for **** up!

Whenever sports broadcasters use the players first name when they are doing a game.  The Senators guys don't often do it but there are some really bad ones out there.  I think the guy who does the Jays games is really bad for doing that.

It doesn't have to make sense, it's our policy!

One of my BIG pet peeves is 10+ years after introducting photo OHIP cards there are tons of the plain red and white ones still in use.  That makes the photo ones useless.  All a counterfitter needs to do is make the read and white one, and that's not very difficult precious.

People that stand an inch from the elevator doors because they assume it came for them and that no one is getting off. Then, they jump on before letting anyone off. Idiots.

Only two members of our family have 'new' health cards...both because of stolen wallets and the need to replace health cards.  The government 'ran out of funds' before they completed the "new" cards and they never reached our surname in the alphabet!!

Anyway, my pet peeve.............earwigs.

They must not have gotten very far, because my wife who's surname starts with M still has her old black and red card and refuses to get a new one.

The new cards were implemented the same year we moved from BC to Ottawa, i remember waiting for hours before we were finally seen to process our info for our health cards.  It was the same thing the following year or so when I had to go back because I was 16 and my card now required a picture.

Anyway, my pet peeve.............earwigs.

I don't know if it is because everything is so wet, but they have been everywhere this year.  We are even finding them on our kitchen counter at times and our basement floor, really disgusting.  We started out having an ant issue in our kitchen, that seems to have gone away, now it is just these damn earwigs.
